Today's Dads

Today's Dads is a component of the Supporting Today's Parents program, that was created to bring fathers into the parenting process. Through Today's Dads, fathers are introduced to a new school of thinking when it comes to fathering and co-parenting. This paradigm shift helps fathers become responsible and nurturing parents, who are involved, in a positive manner, in the lives of their children.

Today's Dads is a voluntary program that provides one-on-one case management, and group programming. Our case managers work with participants to eliminate difficulties that can lead to stress. Assistance is provided in areas such as anger management, employment, job training, education, child support, paternity assistance and parenting skills.

Program Highlights:

  • Held a violence prevention program "Dads Who Play" which incorporated a basketball tournament.
  • Participated in planning a Fatherhood Conference.
  • Today's Dads program was included in the Annie E. Casey National Report on Fatherhood Involvement.
  • Formed a new collaboration with next Door Foundation and New Hope Legal Aid to determine paternity in the hospital at the time of birth.
