DONATING

How do I make a donation (financial, time, gift or other) to Rosalie Manor?
There are a number of ways you can help. Click on a link below or visit our DONATE page to learn more.

PAST RESIDENTS

I believe one of my relatives was a resident at Rosalie Manor and I’m searching for the child. Can you help me?

Because the records are closed, we can only release the information to the Resident herself. In addition, Rosalie Manor did not handle adoptions, and therefore we do not have any information on where the child was placed.

I was born at Misericordia Hospital.  Is it possible to obtain a copy of my medical records or my birth certificate?

Rosalie Manor does not have the records from the Misericordia Hospital – they were transferred to Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. Elmbrook Memorial Hospital only keeps records for the past 25 years and do not have the records from the Misericordia Hospital. Therefore, medical records are not available. Rosalie Manor does not have copies of birth certificates; they can be obtained by contacting the City of Milwaukee.

If I was born at Misericordia Hospital does it mean that my mother was a resident of Rosalie Manor?

No. Misericordia Hospital was the premier birthing hospital during the 1940s – 1960s.

I know my birth mother was a Rosalie Manor Resident. Can I find out who she was?

Because the records are closed, we are unable to search for that information. In addition, we can only search by the Resident’s last name, and if the name is not known, it is not possible to track the Resident.

I was a resident of Rosalie Manor and would like a copy of my records.  What do I need to do?

Because the records are closed and information can only be released to the resident herself, we do require that a notarized letter is sent containing the following information:

Your name
Your name when you were a resident (if different)
The year you were a participant

Retrieval of your records is free of charge.
