$798,000 Grant awarded to Rosalie Manor School, Family and Neighborhood Abstinence project

We are proud to announce that Rosalie Manor has been awarded a $798,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This project falls under the Special Projects of Regional and National Significance (SPRANS), a federal block grant that supports community-based abstinence until marriage education projects for youth between the ages of 12 to 18 years.

This award allows us to continue the project we began three years ago, when we first formed a coalition with Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Northcott Neighborhood House, New Concept Self-Development Center, and Milwaukee Public Schools. Rosalie Manor is the lead agency in the coalition.

The goals we will be working toward include:

  • Reducing the number of adolescents engaging in sexual activity
  • Reducing the incidence of out-of-wedlock pregnancies among adolescents
  • Reducing the incidence of Sexually Transmitted Infections among adolescents thereby improving the health of youth in Milwaukee
