ROSALIE & GAMMA PHI BETA TAKE THE STAGE IN STYLE
On Sunday, May 5, 2002 the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and the Ladies of the Gamma Gamma chapter teamed up with Rosalie to hold a spring Fashion Show and silent auction. Held at the Manchester East Hotel in Glendale, with more than 150 people in attendance, everyone was ready to step into spring.
Gamma Phi Beta Sorority women and Rosalie staff and program participants strutted down the catwalk, with hair and makeup by Carenza Color, and music by Sweet Sounds of Music.
The Sorority women were escorted by male models from UWM fraternities including Phi Sigma Kappa, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Triangle and Sigma Chi Rho. They were all perfectly dressed in fashions from Banana Republic, the Gap, Eddie Bauer, The Buckle and Delias.
The stars of the show were our Families United to Prevent Teen Pregnancy mentees, who showed off Gap Kids new sporty look. The mentees were joined by FUPTP mentors to sing, dance and rap the message of abstinence, self-confidence and pledged to make positive choices and be leaders among their peers. Their message was powerful. As they lifted their voices, the youth got the crowd moving and were given a standing ovation.
The show ended with a touch of class as the members of the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter, and Rosalie staff showed off the traditional classic look from Talbots.
Guests who attended were able to bid on more than 90 silent auction packages, and take a chance on more than 50 raffle items. This, in combination with a large audience, helped Rosalie raise more than $7,000! Thanks to all who helped and attended!
