Past Residents of Rosalie Manor

Rosalie Manor Community & Family Services was a home for single pregnant women from 1908 to 1996. Often residents or family members of residents request information on their stay. The following information outlines the request format, and frequently asked questions.

If You Were a Resident:

We are happy to provide you with a copy of your records. To release your records we need a written notarized request for your file containing this following information:

  • Your legal name
  • Your legal name when you were a resident (if different)
  • The months and year you were a resident
  • A contact email or phone number
  • The address in which you’d like your records sent

Please note: your written request must be notarized.

The notarized letter should be mailed to:
Rosalie Manor Community & Family Services
Attn: Resident File Request
4803 W. Burleigh St.
Milwaukee, WI 53210

Residential Information on File:

  • Resident’s name, address, month and year of their stay, religion, ethnic background, last year of school completed
  • The name of the alleged father, his occupation
  • The birth date of the baby, the gender, weight, length, name, the doctor
  • The agency who handled the adoption of the baby

Please note: while all of this information is on the form, not all of the information is completed. In addition, Rosalie Manor did not handle any of the adoptions, and does not have any birth certificates or formal birth records on file.

Upon request this information will be copied and mailed to the former Resident.

If you were not a resident and are looking for information on a family member:

Because these are closed records, legally, we are not able to release information to anyone other than the former Resident herself.
