We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a $630,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Health Resources and Services Administration's Abstinence Education Grants Program.
Congressman Tom Barrett stated, "Rosalie Manor has been steadfast in its commitment to reduce teen pregnancy in our area. These grant funds will help Rosalie Manor deliver a clear abstinence-only message to youth in our community."
The funds we received will be used to form a new city-wide coalition to apply proven abstinence education methods learned by the Best Friends/Best Men Program (MPS), and our FUPTP program. This coalition will deliver an abstinence-only message to Milwaukee youth, increasing awareness of the benefits of delaying sexual activity until marriage with the ultimate goals of increasing behaviors that promote health and productive lives, while reducing teen pregnancy and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. Our partners will include MPS, New Concept Self Development Center, Northcott Neighborhood House, and the Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
